Summer Vacation!

First vacation of the summer... the lake! For Memorial Day Weekend, we spent 3 fun-filled days on beautiful Lake Powell! It was so much fun (except for the wind and rain that we were blessed with at least once a day)! We spent all day on the lake, and then slept in a hotel- which is way easier than camping when you have kids. My parents brought their boat and two jet skis, so there was always something to do.

Cameron on the jetski.

Just chillin. Dad snoozing, Cameron (meditating?), me and Kati reading.

We took the boat over to sand hill (a HUGE hill of white sand that you climb, then stand in the shade of the red rock at the top). Cameron, Mike, Lesli, Emeli, and Blake all climbed to the top. But as soon as Tyler saw them up there he decided that he could do it too! (This is no easy task for a 4-year-old.) But he did it! It took him about 20 minutes to get to the top, but he did it all by himself. I was so proud of my little boy!

Running down the hill is the best part. Because it's so steep you jump down it and kinda feel like you're flying, and then you dive into the lake at the bottom. So after all the "big kids" ran down. Tyler slowly walked down all by himself too. It was so cute to see him all sweaty and sandy when he got down to the boat. That boy deserved a medal!
The boys found this great cliff-jumping spot. Totally freaked my mom out, but they all survived. This first jump was maybe 30 ft. And then they found another one about 50 ft. No pic though, I video-taped that one.

Tyler was so excited to go fishing with Grandpa at the lake. Luckily Grandpa brought the fishing stuff. This was the first catch! Tyler and Ava were so proud!

Riding in the boat was crowded, but lots of fun. All the kids were great- hardly ever complained at all- even without naps! Everyone had a great time, no one got hurt (well not REALLY hurt), and so it was a great trip!
Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us come! We had an awesome time!
